Head of Sitech Racing, Simon Smail has extensive training and experience in many fields of motorsport and general road car engineering. Having started his career in engine building Simon moved to Pilbeam Race and Design where he was heavily involved with the design and build of the Pilbeam Le Mans SR2 sports car, which won it's first ever endurance race at Donnington with Simon being responsible for the build and running of the car.
Next Simon secured a place on the Peugeot HTML Touring Car team where at the helm as Chief Mechanic, they won the British touring car production championship. Immediately before starting Sitech Racing Simon completed 4 years on the McLaren-Mercedes Formula 1 Team where he rapidly moved through the ranks from mechanic on the Test Team where he was responsible for engine, braking and hydraulics and completing his term as Racing & Test Team Parts Coordinator.
Having been involved at the top levels of motorsport for many years allows us to draw on a wealth of practical experience no matter what type of work is required. When you come to Sitech Racing, we don't just fit parts based on what they look like or how expensve they are but what we know will work best for your particular application and requirements whether that be for road or the track.
